Established in 2010
We founded Paper or Plastik Cafe in 2010 as a family: Anya & Yasha Michelson, a husband-and-wife design team, along with our daughter, Marina, a filmmaker and actor. Over the last 10 years, we have proudly extended our family to include a fantastic team of baristas, servers, cooks, and dishwashers, and a community of regular customers.

MIMODA STUDIO: Located Right Next Door
Our adjacent dance studio, Mimoda Studio can be viewed from the mezzanine level of the café. A creative space designed for adventurous artists, Mimoda is home to quality and original programming that is unique to LA. Formerly home to the renowned Dancers Studio, Mimoda is now home to rising dance companies, classical musicians, and performance artists.
Capable of transforming into a stage, a gallery, a gathering point or a rehearsal studio, Mimoda adapts to all works of art under the artistic direction of Yasha Michelson. The live calendar of weekly events programming can be seen on the Studio's event page. The Studio is also available for private events and rentals.

Lovely place! Decided to choose this place for our date with my love and omg we loved it! Food is so delicious (I got chicken pancakes, he got Pop burger)! Staff is so friendly! Can't believe they have live music right next door to the Dining room! Definitely come back for more

This is an incredible artsy place! The food menu is pretty unique and everything we tried was very delicious! we came on Wednesday and they have a classical music performance at the studio which is located right there at 8pm. We really enjoyed the performance...

I'm new in this area and I'm really happy to find this lovely place. The creative atmosphere, beautiful people and an amazing dinner. It's a very good price and really tasty meals, especially Salmon. It was fresh and really good And yeah, I also love beautiful music in this place
